Requirements of a true Tuscan
All production phases of Toscano Extra-virgin Olive Oil PGI, from harvesting and pressing to end product packaging, must be carried out within the region of Tuscany.
This is how the authentic Toscano extra virgin olive oil PGI is born
Harvest
The olives, obtained only from varieties established by the production specifications, are harvested in olive groves within the administrative territory of the Region of Tuscany, registered in the Toscano PGI designation.
Olive pressing
The pressing of the olives, as well as the harvest, must take place within the region of Tuscany.
Packaging
Oil that has passed traceability, chemical and organoleptic tests, as established by production specifications, can be awarded with the designation and is then packaged as Tuscan PGI. The packaging must also take place within the region of Tuscany.
